On the right path

Syncrosinities. Are you familiar with the term? Happy and meaningful coincidences. The kind of events that seem magical and quite unbelievable. I want to tell you what I experienced after the Embrace of Intuition retreat. The evening in September was a gentle, opening, insightful and beautiful experience. I will post and share the feedback that participants gave me about the evening. For now, however, I'll share what I got out of the evening. I experienced...

Upgrading the studio toilets

The toilets, which were perceived as dull and unlit, needed to be updated to make them more welcoming, with a small surface makeover. There were two toilets side by side, in a unisex design. The style had to be rough, clean, functional and in keeping with the look of the studios. The means to achieve this were painting and decorating, no fixed furniture or other structural elements were changed here. The white walls were yellowed and dirty, so I started by painting these...

New site furnishing materials together

When the builder sends you a brochure on material choices, it may be useful to send it to the interior designer. When building a new property, all materials should be chosen at once. If you want to spend your time on something else, you can also outsource the selection of materials, practicality and the character of your home at this stage. It was at this stage, when the house was still being built, that I helped with the choices. As with the interior design, this is also...

New furniture and colouring for your new home

The family was in the process of buying a new home, and were excited about their new choice, but needed some interior design tips. The family felt that their new home was a bit impersonal and colourless, too white. When they moved into this new one, they wanted more atmosphere and colour. Black, brown and green were mentioned as their favourite colours. Grey, oak and pink were also mentioned as nice colours for the interior. ...

The red thread is blue

A family of four wanted timelessness, unity, cosiness and greenery in their living room. They wanted a classic living room with a touch of funk. The home is otherwise decorated in the style of the 60s, so they also wanted the living room, which felt unfinished, to be designed with a 60s vibe, but not a direct time capsule to the past. Plants were liked, but their placement was a source of uncertainty. My view of the whole: the exterior of the building had been painted in dark blue as well as white, and...

Towards strong colour, harmony and comfort

A family of four wanted a living and dining area that was cosy, homely and warm. They wanted to get rid of the massive mirrored cabinetry and find a solution to the clutter on the open shelves. The living room needed a cat-proof leather sofa with a divan section that was easy to vacuum underneath. A new place for the wall clock, with numbers on the clock to make it easy for a schoolchild to learn our concept of time. All the furniture could be replaced except the dining table chairs...

Will the fair be cancelled

The design of an exhibition stand can easily slip under the pen of an interior designer. A trade fair event can be an important way of creating awareness and familiarity for the company and making the consumer aware of it. The visual appearance and functionality of a stand can play a decisive role in whether people walk past or walk towards it. When planning a trade fair, it's worth taking at least these tips into account! 1. At the fair There is a huge amount to see at the fair. The eye wanders and wanders. Think of a uniform colour or...

The Artek Sisters

Two old Artek chairs needed to be made white. They had a tightly riveted core in the seat. You know, the kind of waxy cover. The rivets had to be removed with a chisel and then examined to see if the wood underneath was in good condition. The seat of both chairs had been preserved quite nicely under the core. Otherwise there were scratches and dents in the frame parts of the chair, which had to be repaired...
