The red thread is blue

Family of four wanted his living room to be timeless, unified, cosy, with green plants. They wanted a classic living room with a touch of intrigue.

The home is otherwise furnished In the style of the 60s, so the living room, which felt unfinished, was also designed with a 60s vibe, but without being a direct time capsule to the past. Plants were liked, but their placement was a source of uncertainty.

My view of the whole: The exterior wall of the building was dark blue as well as white, and this was therefore also repeated in the tiles in the kitchen area. This deep dark blue should also speak for itself in the living room. I suggested painting the entire end wall opposite the window. The vibrant deep blue would be the soul of the room.

From the living room window a lush view that the family loved. I thought the greenery should make a continuum. The plants would make a front along the sofa wall and be a nice continuity from the view.

A world of similarities a large grey carpet would continue, transporting the occupant to the grey Hakola sofa. The sofa would therefore be allowed to stay. The carpet is circular and thus repeats the shape of the ceiling and floor lamp. I also suggested a round coffee table.

Creating an atmosphere I suggested a 60s-70s Carl Fagerlund Orrefors lamp on the wall near the sofa, straight glass art. And in an unbelievable stroke of luck, the family's maternal uncle found the very same pair of lamps that the family got for their living room.

Design of furniture and colours. At the design stage, acoustic panels were a suggestion, but the whole was beautifully executed even without them. The wish was to have art on the wall.
