The Artek Sisters

Two old Artek chairs had to be made white. Their seats had a tightly riveted core. You know, the kind of waxy cover. The rivets had to be removed with a chisel and then examined to see if the wood underneath was in good condition. The seat of both chairs had been preserved quite nicely under the core. Otherwise, there were scratches and dents in the frame parts of the chair, which had to be patched up to hide them from view.

White paint refreshed the look of the chairs in a whole new way. A beautifully made antique chair will endure and renew, and can renew itself precisely because of its durability. Even these white sisters got back to serving a multitude of butts.
