A desire for a raw, industrial style, personality and masculinity

The plan was triggered by a resident's need to upgrade their bathroom. The resident wanted microcement on the floor and walls - and wanted help with their shade choices. They wanted to keep the existing brown-coloured fixtures and match the future colour choices. The shower walls were replaced, as were the ceiling panelling and lighting. The ceiling would be fitted with giant panels, as the same material was already used in the sauna. As the panelling was going to be replaced, it was possible to design...

New site furnishing materials together

When the builder sends you a brochure on material choices, it may be useful to send it to the interior designer. When building a new property, all materials should be chosen at once. If you want to spend your time on something else, you can also outsource the selection of materials, practicality and the character of your home at this stage. It was at this stage, when the house was still being built, that I helped with the choices. As with the interior design, this is also...

Microcementing for the bathroom

I wanted a rough-looking microcement for the bathroom walls and floor. I had already fallen in love with the material during the renovation of a previous apartment, where we did the microcementing ourselves on the empty straight walls of the kitchen. For the bathroom, however, I would recommend a professional, as the bathroom, with its many corners and tiles, is a pretty demanding object. Pool and cabinet -love

The whole idea of transforming the bathroom started with my long coveted Woodio wooden sink. When the opportunity came my way, I snapped up the offer in May, four months before the upcoming renovation was due to begin. At that point, I didn't even know if I could get permission from the condo association to renovate the bathroom and what other changes I might make. But I had a sink. The colour shade is called Arctic, in shades of dark blue, charcoal grey, black. The shade was...

If you can't, you can't

It didn't go according to plan. But not always in life. In the end, however, it turned out all right for the end result. Due to the plumbing renovation, both the kitchen and the bathroom of the family of three had to be replaced. The residents wanted the kitchen to be functional and nice. They wanted mud and Moroccan tiles. Something like that in terms of tone and material. Not white, too modern and also not a deadpan look. Smooth high gloss cabinets...

Time for the bathroom is

Now that the bathroom is ready, we can discuss the before-and-after situations. The starting point was a basic white-tiled bathroom. It had two showers side by side, a washing machine and a basic sink, mirror cabinet and toilet seat. I envisioned a dark-walled, rough-hewn spa experience room. The next steps were to walk towards it. For the cabinets, I chose a shade of green called Studio Green. A really beautiful smoky dark grey green colour. I thought it would suit...

The move has happened!

From now on, we will live in a new home. Reporting will now take place from the new mattress in the living room, which will serve as a sofa for the time being. There's not much other furniture yet, but that doesn't matter much. Mostly on my mind is the rub from the renovation part of the bathroom, where the custom-made cabinetry is unfinished, which means the level can't be put in, which means the faucet and sink can't be used. The contractors left the job unfinished...

Cleaning

The lack of a timetable has stressed me out. When the promised delivery is not made, the sense of control is shaken. You can't schedule the next step when the first one drags on. Today I felt a sense of cleansing and calm when the bathroom furniture from Estonia, the wardrobe cupboards from Ikea and the children's beds were finally delivered on the same day. Hopefully the assembly of these furniture will go smoothly, in the evening when I visited the apartment,...
