In search of bridges

Colour is in the interior a surprisingly big unifying factor, even if they are different rooms. I really fell in love with the rose gold colour when I chose the taps, and by sprinkling that colour in small details throughout the apartment, it's like an invisible bridge between them. The colour unifies the different parts of the apartment in my mind.

Rose gold -coloured taps were selected for the bath tap, shower tap and sink tap. A momentary problem was that the hand shower tap was not available in rose gold. However, a hand shower is a must in the toilet. So I was forced to choose a different coloured tap for the other sink. With black and white available elsewhere in the apartment, and with a hand-held faucet version available in matte black, I welcomed one of the black faucets into the bathroom.

More friends The rose gold colour came from the light fittings in the living room. The interior of the white globe lamp is a clever rose gold shade, while the outer rim of its companion wall clock is the same shade. Not to be outdone by a full-bodied globe lamp, the other living room light fixture is a frame-like cage-like fixture with holes. The frame is also rose-coloured, I think the exact shade is copper, but I think it's similar enough.

This downright amusing ball light, which opens and closes like a UFO. In the background is a wall clock with a rose gold frame. The clock is still waiting to be hung on the wall.
