A new home for a couple the bedroom was asked to have an interior design. The idea was to have an inviting dark-coloured chamber where the couple's husband could carve something. The couple was open to unique ideas in wood that the carpenter could make himself. 

Great! An example of a desirable style was the Lapland hotel style with a modern and elegant touch. Dark, warm, deep, nested and calming was the order of the day.

White walls were already up and running when I visited the premises. There was a need for character and a willingness for characterful personal solutions. That's how I got started. As a special solution for the main wall, I suggested recesses on either side of the bed, where you could put small objects or even a book. Also on both sides would hang narrow brass lamps. The brass would be repeated throughout the rest of the apartment. I suggested a very dark blue-grey paint colour for the main wall and a slightly lighter version of the same colour for the side walls. 

The room itself as a treat, I suggested a wall made of old board running the width of the bed along the main wall, and this structure would continue up to the ceiling. A real wow effect on entering the room. Along the way, the idea evolved in the mind of a carpenter into a stunning dark painted wall made of OSB with gold-lit scales running along it.

The couple are pleased with the hotel-like atmosphere they have achieved, and the warmth of the room makes them feel at ease. Living the plan to its realised conclusion made the collaboration fruitful and the end result even better. Let's get to the cologne!
