Implementation of the renovation for yourself. If material choices have been made, then today I've been able to call myself a renovation risk-taker as well. The kitchen will have a microcement wall, the base of which is now shoveled into the walls. The colour is selva, which is Spanish for forest, jungle. The forest idea fits well, as there will be wooden open shelves on the wall and a knotty, wooden shelf for kitchen utensils in the kitchen. More on those later.
Micro-cement mortar is mixed with coloured liquid and powder. I was nervous about the mixing ratio beforehand, but we found that a good ratio is mostly a matter of trial and error (I guess that goes for the rest of life too). If it got too loose, just add more flour. Or again, if the mixture got too stiff, add more liquid.
Fortunately, the bathroom the microcementer was there at the same time, so we were able to ask the professional directly for advice throughout the day. Tomorrow we will continue with the application of the actual top coat, which will have to be done twice. After that, the wall will be sanded. Finally, the entire surface will be varnished to give the wall a lickable feel. And easy to clean.
