Functionality of the hallway is a surprisingly big benefactor at home. If you feel you have to dodge furniture or people, that's not good. Smooth movement and easy placement of coats and shoes are comforting to many. A client identified the problem areas in the hallway of her home, which is a stunning old factory building:
The cupboards are too deep, you bump into them when you walk past.Too many shoes on display, here's something nice. The owner of the shoes promised to reduce the number of shoes. It's not easy to get around.
The style I wanted was loft, something exciting, old and new, lots of colour, no pastels, a combination of clean and bohemian.
Functionally, they wanted space in the corridor, shoes hidden and more lighting.
Presentation of the plan:
The proposal would remove the large shoe rack and replace it with a chest of drawers and a chest of drawers to sit on. The recess would be painted in a dark plum shade to match the shade of the frame. For an industrial look, we'd have a hat rack with rough pipes.Pairs of recess colours. That's how they would sit in place.Furniture on the opposite wall that would be much narrower than the current ones, to make passing by harmless.Looking like this with its gorgeous wallpaper.Screws and nuts in the wall to give the jackets a fun-looking support.More light.
And then a chuckle-inducing finished realisation from the hallway:
