Family of four the hope was to convert the garage into a cinema room and a sports room. In addition to the movie experience, they wanted the room to be easily transformed into a space where they could relax, unwind and exercise. The atmosphere should be cosy, serene, natural, soft and calming.

Fixed to the ceiling the tyres and air yoga fabric were to be retained. The space had three windows, white walls and one wall of storage shelves covered with curtains.

My vision was to create A Timeless Space, where you can immerse yourself in a film or relax with yoga, for example. I wanted to fulfil the wish for a beautiful colour scheme and the incorporation of natural elements.

Woodnotes K-chairs was the wish of the family, they would come to the farm, that was the starting point. Four seats were needed for four people, so in addition to the two K-chairs, curtained Free divans were brought in, where it would be comfortable to stretch your legs and let the movie roll. No movie theatre-style chairs were wanted, but the furniture had to be movable.

Gorgeous cut-outs the troll-shaped rugs were a stunningly lovely find and a fun curiosity. Their whimsical shape instantly brought a cheerful nature aspect to the room. The material is suitable for underfloor heating, which the room has. The troll leaf shape is a standard VM-carpet shape, mind! Three carpets were made to measure, the largest of which is four metres in diameter.

Designing a cinema room Consideration of acoustics and the darkness of the room is essential. Acoustics were improved with different acoustic panels on the walls and ceiling, and textiles such as large rugs and acoustic curtains covering one long wall. The space is darkened by blackout roller blinds installed at the windows. The walls are painted with a full dark dark paint, so there's no reflection on the walls either.

The family is now happy so well in its atmospheric cinema room that it is reportedly in use all the time and sometimes there is a queue! That certainly warms the heart! However, the space was left with a garage door and nothing was done to the floor, just large carpets, so the space can also be converted into a garage later if you wish. For now, though, the only thing on the horizon is delicious movie nights! A big thank you to the family for letting me design such a juicy transformation with quality materials! A dream project! <3
