The tree of rest is a stand on which the mobile phone can rest. It's a beautiful encouragement to be present for yourself. This is my new idea, which I feel is revolutionary. This now feels like a really important ideology to bring into the public consciousness and into the common cause. That's why I want to tell you the facts behind the idea. It was influenced by many different elements, for which I am grateful: experiencing the connection with nature without a mobile phone, finding the material through another project, a few adversities, meditation and also the yoga camp that brought the name of the product to my attention. I will explain the background of these different elements:
Material starting point
I was excited acquired one large teak disc and four smaller discs. And I had thought of making coffee tables out of them all. I made a unique coffee table from the largest one, which I designed for a client in one of the interior design projects. For the smaller ones, I soon realised that they were far too small to be coffee tables. They were still waiting to see what I would come up with for them.
But for my interior design client, I proudly presented the coffee table I made Unique table Wood_03 - because it has three roots and three branches. The table top is solid teak and the wood is carried from the beach. The table is made in such a way that a solid tree grows in the middle, as if it were a frame, supported by 'roots' made of the same wood. The roots are turned to fit the life-like frame. From the top of the trunk tree come the 'branches' that support and secure the table top to the table. The branches are beautiful cherry wood. The frame, roots and branches are stained in the same shade to give a complete effect. The holes in the table top have been filled by melting wax into the holes and smoothing them out. The surface of the table has been sanded with fine sandpaper and is wonderfully smooth. The whole is finished with satin wax, so the surfaces are durable. I was sure the client would want this spectacular table. But in this case size mattered, the coffee table had to accommodate dining and opening the Hesari, so the answer was a beautifully presented No.
Sometimes in the face of adversity is the hidden key to the next idea to be born! If the client hadn't said no to this table at this point, I wouldn't have challenged myself to come up with more ideas. If the coffee table had been sold to him, I would have dropped the pen and leaned back - done deal, done deal. Now that I had a beautiful table to hand and a spare of the same type of wood material, those smaller wooden boards, I started thinking about what else I could make in the same vein, a sort of product line from these unique woods. Earlier, in another interior design project, the family wanted a place to leave their phones so they wouldn't have them on hand all the time. The sum of these was the idea of a stand on its own legs, with beautifully coloured edges. This was the background to the idea in terms of materials. Thank you to my interior design client <3

Mental and physical starting point
Cottaging for Midsummer with lovely friends at their cottage in central Finland. Swimming in the lake, lighting a fire in the sauna, relaxing in the countryside and being with friends and family was relaxing. My mobile phone was a bit poorly working. I said, a little annoyed, that it should stay on the shelf, I let it go. And enjoyed everything else. It was childishly liberating. The pompous frown disappeared.
After the cottage I began to chafe at the idea that we really didn't have a clear place to put the phone. I mean, in a way that you can let go of it, in a way that it's not always and at any time within a metre of you. A clear place to put it DOWN. Inspired by swimming in a lake in central Finland, I continued swimming in the sea from a nearby pier. And I samoaned with the kids on the cliffs and in the woods. I listened to meditations and sensed nature and listened to intuition. The idea of a pedestal standing on its own two feet, made of organic material, beautiful wood, was born. This was the background to the idea of the Levon Tree for spiritual well-being and bodily experience. Thanks to my cottage friends, my own children and nature. <3
The energetic starting point
Then the energetic half. Over the last year, I've been doing a lot of mental work. I've been attending various retreats and yoga camps, and I listen to meditations on a daily basis. Heart-opening exercises, strengthening my own voice, creativity, trusting my intuition, facing my own shadows - on a path like this. That's why I've dared to take these ideas that come to me in flashes and take them one step at a time, step by step, for real. Confident that here I am on the right path. That's why an important part of the Levonpuu ideology is that I finish each product by channelling restfulness, freedom and presence into it. An energetically important element that I hope will be transmitted to the user. This is an essential aspect of trusting intuition in the creation of Levonpuu. Thanks to Kirsti Kuosmanen, Martta Jemina for the 8D meditations and all the people I met at the retreats. <3
The origin of the name Resting Tree
Levonpuu - a place for your mobile phone to rest. The name describes the purpose of the wooden stand and I think it's a funny pun on my surname - handmade by Sirpa Levonperä. The background to the name is quite mysterious. I was on a yoga retreat in Saaremaa in the summer, organised by the wonderful Kylli Kukk. Every night we had sound healing, created for us by Almer Jansu. The sounds of gongs and singing bowls vibrate and treat the person from the cellular level, balancing the flow of energy in the body. Well in one sound healing session the word "resting tree" came into my head. When the gong sound stopped, I turned from my yoga mat and immediately wrote down the word "levonpuu" in the notebook next to me. The name came to my consciousness that way, without trying. The name radiated such good energy and was so unique and apt that I applied for a registered trademark for it. Thanks to Kylli Kukk, Almer Jansu, my yoga friend Sari Takala and the Finnish Patent and Registration Office <3
